Salamon Group (SLMU) Fraud Emails

A new stock “Pump & Dump” campaign is now underway.  Emails arrive from randomly spoofed sender addresses with a Subject line of:

“Watch this Company going up”

The email contents begin with the investment advice:

20% GaAIN ALlERT (SLMU)

SALAMON GROUP INC.
Sector: Solar Energy

Currrent Value: $0.03 (+20%)
3 days Tarrget: $0.10
7 days Tarrget: $0.20

The misspellings contained are typically intentional in an attempt to evade spam filtering systems…. good luck with that.

The email continues:

Salamon Group Inc. (SLMU), a leading designer of next generation electronic products and systems, announced today that the commpany intends on filing a new patent designed to provide new power to Air Conditioning Units.

It also generically references other patents held by the firm, but fails to mention:

  • They don’t actually have any products being made
  • Nor do they have any sales or revenue
  • There are just two insiders with shares, the bulk of held by “John E Salamon”
  • Trading volume of this pink sheet is essentially non-existent.

The email does suggests that you

“Add SLMU to your tiicker first thing Tomorrow morning…”

We suggest that you don’t.
